Family Events - May 2nd Weekend

Pecan Street Festival - May 2 & 3 -Sat:11am-10pm, Sun:11am-8pm, 6th Street , . 250 artists, five stages of entertainment including Music by Tommy Tutone, Bob Schneider, an International Stage, Magic Shows and Dance, Kids art Tent with free activities, Carnival and Food vendors.. Free Admission.

May Day Festival at Pioneer Farms -May 2, (Saturday) -1:00pm-5:00pm, 10621 Pioneer Farms Drive, 512-837-1215. Hayrides, music (including the Biscuit Brothers), dancing, gunfights, horseback rides, food and drink vendors, and lots more. 8th Annual Front Porch Days- May 2, (Saturday) -See website for schedule., 450 Haupt, Kyle, TX 78640, (512) 405 0159. Front Porch Days is a two-day, family friendly celebration held the first weekend in May that brings over 5,000 residents of Kyle and surrounding areas to Plum Creek’s Fergus Park. Activities include face painting, inflatable games, Jigglebug Express, petting zoo, pie baking contest, pony rides, washer tournament, and more. .

Lemonade Day Austin -
May 3, (Sunday) -All Day, Throughout the Austin Area, 512-431-7770. Lemonade Day is a free community-wide program designed to teach kids entrepreneurship through the power and simplicity of a lemonade stand.

Free Guided Hikes
-May 3, (Sunday) -9:00 am - 1:30 pm, Wooded Hills on Little Barton, 263-6443. The guides will begin this 4.5 hour excursion by leading the group through a dense woodland with large red oaks and flame leaf sumacs. Then, after exploring an open hilltop, you will descend to the limestone banks of Little Barton Creek. See the scenic vistas, fossils, native grasses and wildflowers with Travis County Staff. Ages 12 and up. All children 18 & under must be accopanied by an adult. Registration required. Pre registration is required..
